Fedora Downloads

Packages are the most straightforward way to install GRUB2 Editor. Simply select your distribution below:

Fedora 21Fedora 20Fedora 19Fedora 18

On the other hand, you may subscribe to a repository in order to automatically get new updates:

For Fedora 21 run the following as root:

cd /etc/yum.repos.d/
wget http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:ksmanis/Fedora_21/home:ksmanis.repo
yum install kcm-grub2

For Fedora 20 run the following as root:

cd /etc/yum.repos.d/
wget http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:ksmanis/Fedora_20/home:ksmanis.repo
yum install kcm-grub2

Note: Substitute ‘kcm-grub’ with ‘kcm-grub2-efi’ in the above commands in order to install an EFI-compatible version of GRUB2 Editor.

  1. That’s great however I now run Fedora 22 which by default uses KDE Plasma 5 and this means that I cannot see the app anywhere. Is there a chance this will be updated anytime soon?

    • Hi, the module has not yet been ported to KF5 (KDE Frameworks 5) and will not be any time soon. That’s why it doesn’t appear in the new System Settings.

You could try launching it manually using the command “kcmshell4 kcm_grub2”. I tried it on a F22 LiveCD and the F21 package installs and launches successfully. Please proceed on your own risk, I haven’t worked on it for quite some time, neither have I tested it in any recent distribution. Hopefully most stuff will still work properly but I can’t vouch for that.

  2. I can’t get the EFI version to update the grub.cfg at /boot/efi/EFI/fedora/grub.cfg.
It seems to update the grub.cfg in the non-EFI location.

Any suggestions, can I force the location in some way.
